We make video data cheaper to keep

MNK Technology is a team of video codec and distributed systems engineers. We build the compression infrastructure layer that large surveillance networks run on — and we have spent the last decade inside the encoder, not on top of it.

Our mission

To help clients create and sustain competitive advantage, improving their business performance

We work with enterprise and public-sector clients to deepen their digital capability. Our focus is deliberately narrow: video data at scale. That means compression that is aggressive enough to change the economics, and safe enough that nobody downstream has to think about it.

Our story

Founded by engineers who wanted to build, not resell

We are a group of veteran technology specialists who set out to help enterprises complete digital transformation with tools that are genuinely differentiated. We believe infrastructure should be judged on measurable outcomes — bytes saved, frames preserved, costs removed.

“We want our clients to move into the digital age with confidence, and to be able to take on the risks that come with it.”Tony Lai — Chief Executive Officer
R&D genesis

Codec engineers, not integrators

Our core team spent years building the streaming and codec systems that hundreds of millions of people use daily. That background is why we can work at a level the market generally cannot reach.

International platform architects

Our core team came out of Tencent and Webex, building low-level video codec algorithms, hyper-scale distributed networks and high-concurrency systems for over a decade.

Open-standard contributors

Core members are code contributors and specification authors on internationally recognised streaming and open-source video standards.

Code-level customisation

We refactor inside the encoder kernel and tune CPU instruction-set micro-architecture — releasing compute that conventional implementations leave on the table.

Core technology

Four technical pillars

Adaptive spatio-temporal compression

Joint spatio-temporal modelling with dynamic feature extraction restructures computational complexity at the source, reaching up to 1/10 storage with no perceptible visual change.

Codec reconstruction and engineering

Deep in the encoder kernel we decouple the algorithm from specific hardware, letting a general-purpose CPU base exceed the concurrency of dedicated silicon.

No-reference video quality assessment

Our NR-VQA engine scores subjective visual quality frame by frame without needing the original source — a fully automated quality dashboard for every stream.

Full-stack software-hardware matrix

From 1 to 384 concurrent streams in hardware, extending to edge cameras, storage appliances and offline parallel platforms: edge to cloud, online to offline.

How we are different

Why architecture matters more than a compression ratio

A single number on a datasheet tells you very little about whether a system will still be running in year five. These are the structural differences that decide it.

Product line breadth. Five hardware families, a dual-engine compression platform, an asset management plane, a video management system, distributed storage and a no-reference quality assessment engine — all built on the same codec core.

Certifications & IP

Independently verified

Verification is the whole product. If a compression system cannot prove that the output is faithful, it has no business holding evidentiary video.

ISO management certification

Quality and information security management systems certified to international standards.

National high-tech enterprise

Recognised as a provincial technology enterprise and a national high-tech enterprise.

Inspection & test reports

Complete hardware inspection reports and compressed-video authenticity and integrity test reports, all independently verifiable.

Inspection findings

The accredited public security inspection report explicitly records that resolution, frame count, duration and codec format are unchanged after processing — and that the result is suitable for statutory evidence.
